Santiago de Cuba prepares for May Day celebrations

As May Day approaches, preparations are in full swing in Santiago de Cuba so that the traditional celebrations in the province are as bright as ever. The Union of Education, Science and Sports, in charge of closing the parade in the Plaza de la Revolución Antonio Maceo, has been working diligently to organize the event.

Each of the province’s 15 unions has been holding meetings with administrative and union representatives to coordinate the logistics of the May Day celebrations. In these Plenary Sessions, the details of the mobilization are discussed and the participation of different work centers in the parade is planned.

The spirit of massiveness, joy and color of May Day is felt in all the municipalities of the province. Emulation is high among unions as they compete to be the most prominent union of the moment. Unions such as Hospitality and Tourism, Education, Science and Sports and Health are determined to win the First Prize and have been holding previous sessions to show their plans for the big day.

Other unions, such as Culture and Commerce, Gastronomy and Services, are also preparing to compete for May Day recognition. The province is abuzz with excitement as each union prepares to publicly display its commitment to the labor movement and its solidarity with workers around the world.

With May Day just days away, Santiago de Cuba is filled with anticipation for celebrations that are sure to be a testament to the unity and strength of the working class.
